Understanding Your Financial Responsibilities
Overview
At BrickDrop.co, we believe in transparency about costs. While your subscription covers normal rental activities, there are circumstances where additional fees may apply. This page outlines those situations and the associated costs.

Note: Fees are current as of March 2025 and subject to change. Rental Goods replacement costs are based on current market values, which may be higher for retired or limited edition sets.
Late Returns
All Rental Goods must be returned within 14 days of subscription cancellation or modification. Failure to return items within this timeframe will result in:
- Full replacement cost for the set (based on current market value)
- 15% restocking fee based on the market value of the set
Damaged or Lost Items
Your subscription does not cover loss or damage to Rental Goods. As a renter, you are responsible for:
- Missing pieces (charged at replacement cost plus 15% restocking fee)
- Damaged sets or pieces (charged at replacement cost plus 15% restocking fee)
- Missing or stolen minifigures (charged at market value, often $5-300+ each)
- Unreturned sets (charged at full replacement price plus 15% restocking fee)
Understanding Replacement Costs
Replacement costs are based on current market value, not original retail price. Many LEGO® sets appreciate in value after retirement:

Important: Rental Goods are often retired items that can be expensive to replace. Some rare sets can cost hundreds or even thousands of dollars to replace. Please handle all sets with care and ensure all pieces are returned.
Missing Piece Allowance
We understand that occasional small pieces may be lost during normal play. To accommodate this:
- We provide a 10g free missing piece allowance per set
- Missing common pieces up to 10g will be replaced at no cost to you
- We ship replacement pieces for free within this allowance
- Important: Rare pieces and minifigures are NOT included in this allowance
For missing pieces beyond the 10g allowance:
- Current BrickLink or LEGO® replacement part pricing applies
- A 15% restocking fee will be added based on the replacement cost
- Rarity of the piece affects pricing (rare pieces from retired sets cost significantly more)
Pro Tip: 10g typically covers several small to medium pieces. To give you an idea, a 2x4 LEGO® brick weighs approximately 2.5g, so the allowance would cover about 4 of these bricks.
Return Condition and Labor Fees
The following labor fees apply when sets are not returned according to our requirements:
- $8.00 per 15 minutes for staff time working on return condition issues
- $32.00 per hour for extended labor required to address significant issues
These fees apply to the following situations:
- Sets mixed together: When pieces from different sets are combined, requiring manual sorting
- Sets not fully disassembled: When models or sections are returned still assembled contrary to return instructions
- Incorrect packaging: When pieces are not properly placed in the provided return bag or box
- Documentation time: Time spent verifying and documenting missing or damaged pieces
- Cleanup: Cleaning sets that are returned with residue, stickers, or other substances
Avoid labor fees: Always separate sets completely, fully disassemble all models according to instructions, and ensure pieces are properly placed in the provided return bag.
Return Conditions
To avoid additional fees, please ensure Rental Goods meet these return conditions:
- Sets are not mixed with other Rental Goods
- Sets are disassembled according to our policies before return
- All pieces (except those omitted by policy) are placed within the return bag
- All pieces are present, and the Rental Good is complete within the bag
- The return bag is placed in the original box
- The prepaid return label is attached to the box
- The provided tape is used to seal the box for return shipping
Failure to meet these conditions will result in additional fees as outlined above.
Shipping Information
Good news - we cover all standard shipping costs as part of your subscription! This includes:
- Free shipping of rental sets to you
- Free return shipping with pre-paid labels
- Free shipping of replacement pieces within the 10g allowance
When You Might Pay for Shipping
There are only a few scenarios where you would need to pay for shipping:
- If you accidentally left items out of a return box and need to send them back
- For shipping of replacement pieces beyond the 10g missing piece allowance
Subscription Modification or Cancellation
When you modify or cancel your subscription:
- All Rental Goods must be returned within 14 days of cancellation, or replacement costs and fees will apply
- You will have access to the Service until the end of your current subscription period
- No refund will be issued for the current month once a set has been shipped
- For quarterly and yearly plans, any prepaid months beyond the currently used month will be refunded
Cancellation Process
To cancel your subscription:
- Log into your account at brickdrop.co/login
- Navigate to Manage → Plan in the navigation menu
- Click the Cancel Plan button and follow the prompts
- Wait to receive your prepaid return label by email
- Return all sets within 14 days of cancellation to avoid additional fees
Important: Sets must be returned within 14 days of cancellation regardless of your billing cycle. Please note:
- You will have access to your subscription until the end of the paid period
- You won't be charged again after cancellation
- You must return all sets within 14 days of your cancellation request
- This 14-day window applies regardless of when your subscription officially ends
- If sets are not returned, you'll be charged the full market value plus a 15% restocking fee
- Restocking fees are non-refundable, even if items are later returned
Plan Modification Process
If you're changing to a plan that doesn't support your current rental sets (e.g., downgrading from a plan that allows large sets to one that only allows small and medium sets), you must:
- Return any sets that exceed your new plan's limits within 14 days
- Failure to return excess sets will result in the same fees as cancellation: replacement cost + 15% restocking fee
Unpaid Fees and Collections
We make every effort to work with our customers regarding fees and payments. However, please be aware:
- Unpaid fees for unreturned sets, damaged items, or missing pieces may be sent to collections after 60 days
- Collections activity may impact your credit score
- All reasonable collection fees may be added to your balance
- We may also pursue legal action for high-value unreturned sets
Important: To avoid collections action, please return all sets on time and respond promptly to any communications about missing or damaged items. We are happy to work with you on payment arrangements if needed.
