General Questions
What is BrickDrop.co?
BrickDrop.co is a Lego® rental subscription service that allows you to rent Lego® sets, build them, enjoy them, and then return them to receive new sets. It's designed for both families and Adult Fans of Lego (AFOLs) who want to experience a variety of sets without the hassle of storage or the high costs of purchasing every set.
How does the rental process work?
The process is simple:
- Choose a subscription plan based on your preferences
- Create a wishlist of Lego® sets you'd like to try
- Receive your selected sets (shipped for free)
- Build and enjoy for as long as you maintain your subscription
- Return the sets using our prepaid shipping label when you're ready for new ones
- Your next rental will ship 30 days after your last once we receive your current rental back
What types of Lego® sets do you offer?
We offer a wide variety of official Lego® sets across different themes including Architecture, Creator, Disney, Harry Potter, Icons, Marvel Super Heroes, Minecraft, Ninjago, Star Wars, Technic, and many more. Our inventory includes thousands of unique sets, from small builds to large premium sets.
What are the size categories for sets?
Sets are categorized based on their original retail price:
- Small Sets: Lower-cost sets, typically under 500 pieces
- Medium Sets: Mid-range sets, typically 500-1000 pieces
- Large Sets: Higher-value sets, typically 1000-2000 pieces
- Premium Sets: High-end sets, typically 2000+ pieces
Different subscription plans offer access to different size categories. Large and Premium sets are shipped sorted by color for easier building and return.
What age groups is this service appropriate for?
Our service is designed for all Lego® enthusiasts. Families with children (supervised for young children due to small parts) and adult builders alike enjoy our service. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and manage a subscription.
Where do you ship to?
We currently ship to the contiguous United States (the lower 48 states and Washington DC). Due to shipping costs, we cannot deliver to Hawaii or Alaska. Customs and shipping costs also prevent us from shipping to Canada, Europe, or other international locations.
Subscription & Pricing
How much does a subscription cost?
Our subscription plans vary based on the size of sets you want to rent. Monthly plans start at $40 per month for small sets and $150 in value, to $100 per month for premium sets and $600 in Lego® per rental. For detailed pricing information, please visit our pricing page.
Can I change my subscription plan?
Yes, you can upgrade or downgrade your subscription at any time through your account dashboard. If you downgrade to a plan that doesn't support your current rental sets (e.g., from large sets to small/medium only), you must return any sets that exceed your new plan's limits within 14 days.
Is there a long-term commitment?
No, there's no long-term commitment required. You can cancel your subscription at any time. All rental sets must be returned within 14 days of cancellation to avoid additional fees.
Are there any additional fees?
Your subscription covers the rental fee and standard shipping both ways. Additional fees may apply in specific circumstances, such as for damaged or lost pieces, unreturned sets, or sets returned in unacceptable condition. See our fees page for complete details.
Do you offer discounts for prepaying for multiple months?
Yes, we offer a 10% discount on prepaid quarterly plans, and a 20% discount on prepaid yearly plans.
Do you offer gift subscriptions or gift cards?
We do not currently offer gift cards. However, you can invite family members to your account at any time, and you can provide a shipping address that is separate from your billing address. Family members invited this way can't access billing information but can choose which sets they want to rent.
How many sets can I receive in each rental?
Depending on your subscription plan, you can receive 1-4 sets at a time. The number of sets is determined by your plan's monthly value cap. For example, Premium plan subscribers can get up to $600 worth of Lego® sets, which might consist of two $150 sets and one $295 set. We aim to maximize the value within your plan's cap.
If I return my current rental early, when will I get my next rental?
Subscriptions are eligible for one rental shipment per billing period. To be eligible for your next rental, your current rental must have been shipped 30 or more days ago and been returned in good standing. Returning sets earlier than 30 days will not allow you to get another rental in that same period. Your subscription covers shipping fees for one rental per period.
When I cancel, how long can I keep my rental?
Upon cancellation, your current rental must be returned within 14 days. See our fees page for more information on this policy and possible charges if you don't comply.
Shipping & Returns
How much is shipping?
Shipping is FREE both ways with all subscription plans. We provide prepaid return labels for hassle-free returns.
How are the Lego® sets packaged?
Sets are packaged into durable bags. Each set is clearly labeled with what set it belongs to and how many bags are in each set. Baseplates can count as a bag, with the sticker placed on the back. If a set is sorted by color, smaller bags will be within the larger bags keeping the sets sorted. The shipment is made in a non-descriptive box to draw less attention.
How long does it typically take to receive a set after ordering?
Orders ship within 2 business days of signup. Shipping typically takes 2-5 days depending on your location and carrier availability.
How long can I keep the Lego® sets?
You can keep sets for as long as your subscription remains active. There's no time limit, so you can build at your own pace. When you're ready for new sets, simply return your current ones.
What is the return process?
- Disassemble the set completely
- Place all pieces in the provided return bag (sorted by color if indicated on the bag)
- Place the bag in the original box
- Attach the prepaid return label to the box
- Use the provided tape to seal the box
- Drop off at any authorized shipping location
What happens if I lose or damage pieces?
We understand that small pieces can occasionally get lost. We provide a 10g missing piece allowance per set, where we'll replace common pieces at no cost to you. For pieces beyond this allowance or for rare/special pieces, replacement costs plus a restocking fee will apply. See our fees page for details.
I forgot something when returning my current rental. What do I do?
Any missing bags, pieces, or sets can be returned at your cost to the following address:
Brick Drop Co LLC
PMB 128
9801 Fall Creek Rd
Indianapolis, IN 46256
USA
Please contact us to let us know what was missing and the tracking number of the shipped contents. Small pieces can be sent via envelope and standard mail with an extra stamp. Whole bags or sets need to be sent as packages.
I lost my return label. What do I do?
Please contact us and we can respond to your ticket via email with the return label. You can print and attach the return label like the one shipped in the box. We suggest resizing the image to 4x6 to make it fit best.
My Lego® set has a sticker saying it has to be sorted. What does that mean?
Large and Premium sets are sorted by color when shipped out. The bags are labeled by the colors they contain. When returning these sets, they must be sorted the same way they were received. If you don't sort the set as required, you'll be responsible for paying labor costs to prepare the set for the next customer. See our fees page for more details.
Set Information
Are instructions included with the rental sets?
For most rentals, instructions are available digitally only. This is due to shipping costs and to prevent paper instructions from becoming damaged or worn out. The QR code on the first bag of every set will direct you to the building instructions for that Lego® set.
If digital instructions are not available (which is rare and typically limited to exclusive sets from places like Legoland), we will include paper instructions.
What happens if a set is retired while I have it rented?
A retired set can increase in value, which affects the cost of replacement for missing pieces or the entire set. We indicate on each product page whether a Lego® set is retired and when remaining sets are estimated to be retired.
Retired sets may be removed from available stock at any time due to increased maintenance costs. See our fees page for general guidance on replacement costs.
Can I rent multiple sets of the same theme?
Yes, you can rent multiple sets from the same theme. Your wishlist can include as many sets from any theme as you like. Which sets you receive depends on availability and your plan's value cap.
Can I rent the same set multiple times?
By default, sets are only rented once per customer. However, if you contact us, we can make arrangements to allow a set to be rented again if you particularly enjoyed it.
My set has a sticker sheet. Can I use it?
Yes! If you're the first to receive a set or previous users didn't apply the stickers, you may apply them. We ask that you follow the instructions carefully out of respect for future customers who will rent the set. If you prefer not to apply the stickers, you may return the sticker sheet with the set. Please note that missing sticker sheets count as missing parts.
Account Management
How do I create and manage my wishlist?
After signing up, you can browse our inventory and add sets to your wishlist. There is no limit to the number of sets within your wishlist. You can make changes to your wishlist at any time. We'll select sets from your wishlist based on availability and your plan's value cap.
How do I report missing pieces if I receive an incomplete set?
When you log in, go to your Current Rental page under your Wishlist, and click the "Report Missing Pieces" link next to the set missing pieces. You'll need to provide the part numbers (found in the back of the instructions) and the quantity of each missing piece.
You can choose to have us send the missing pieces to you for free, or simply report them to ensure we replace them before the set is shipped to the next customer.
Can I have a family account with multiple users?
Yes, you can have family members on your account. This allows them to manage the wishlist, track rentals, and more. Family members can't access billing information but can participate in selecting sets. Accounts are limited to 4 members including the account owner.
How do I cancel my subscription?
- Log into your account
- Navigate to Settings → Plan Section
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Return your current rental within 14 days of cancellation to avoid additional fees
Set Condition & Safety
Are the Lego® sets sanitized between users?
Absolutely. We take cleanliness very seriously. Each Lego® piece is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized with eco-friendly solutions between renters, ensuring a safe building experience for everyone.
Are all pieces verified in each set?
We weigh each set before it ships against the weight the set should match out of the box. Because Lego® includes spare parts, sometimes a needed piece can be missing without the weight being off. But no set is shipped more than 4g off its target weight. Any set that is 4g off its target weight is counted and verified by piece before going out to a customer.
What happens if I receive a set with missing pieces?
If you receive a set with missing pieces, you can report it through your rental page. We'll send replacement pieces from our stock right away to ensure you can complete your build without interruption.
Miscellaneous
Is this service available nationwide?
Our service is available throughout the contiguous United States (the lower 48 states and Washington DC). Due to shipping costs, we cannot currently serve Hawaii or Alaska.
Do you sell the Lego® sets?
We are not a Lego® retailer. Occasionally, we may sell sets to customers who have fallen in love with them, but only if the set is not retired and is available for us to replace. The customer would pay our full replacement cost. This is offered as a convenience for customers only and does not generate profit for us.
What happens if I want to purchase a set I've rented?
While we're primarily a rental service, if you're interested in purchasing a set you've rented, please contact us. We may be able to sell it to you at our replacement cost, provided the set is not retired and we can obtain a replacement.
How environmentally friendly is this service?
Very! Our service promotes sustainability by reducing the need for individual ownership of sets that might only be built once. Additionally, we use eco-friendly cleaning products and carbon-neutral shipping through our partnership with EasyPost to offset the carbon emissions of every shipment.
Who can I contact if I have more questions?
If you have any additional questions or need assistance, please contact us. Our customer service team is happy to help!
